فاز البريطاني لويس هاميلتون سائق “مرسيدس” اليوم الأحد، بسباق جائزة اليابان الكبرى، ليعزز صدارته لبطولة العالم لسيارات الفئة الأولى “فورمولا1″، ويقترب من اللقب قبل 4 سباقات على نهايتها.

واحتل المركز الثاني، اليوم الأحد، على حلبة “سوزوكا” الهولندي ماكس فيرستابن سائق “رد بول” يليه زميله في الفريق الأسترالي دانييل ريتشاردو ثالثا.

وبفوزه الـ61 في مسيرته يعزز هاميلتون بطل العالم 3 مرات صدارته لبطولة العالم ويرفع رصيده إلى 306 موسعًا الفارق مع الألماني سباستيان فيتل سائق “فيراري” الوصيف الذي انسحب اليوم؛ بسبب فقدان قوة محركه إلى 59 نقطة.

ويحتل المركز الثالث في بطولة العالم الفنلندي فالتيري بوتاس بـ234 نقطة.

Hamilton moved to within one win of a fourth world championship with victory at the Japanese Grand Prix

Ferrari remove Sebastian Vettel's engine cover before the race after the German reported a  problem on his way to the grid

The team identified a spark plug issue but appeared to fix the problem before the start of the race at Suzuka

Hamilton and Vettel both got off the line well, but the Mercedes driver maintained his pole position advantage into turn one

Vettel started to lose power on the opening lap and was passed for second by Red Bull's Verstappen at the hairpin

By the start of the second lap, Vettel was swamped by the cars behind and quickly fell down to sixth place at Suzuka

Following a safety car period where Ferrari tried to fix Vettel's problem, the team were eventually forced to retire the German

Sainz's first lap incident brought out the safety car as marshalls push the Toro Rosso clear of any immediate danger

Sainz walks away from his Toro Rosso for the final time with the Spaniard to race for Renault in the final four races

Verstappen inherited second place and attempted to put the pressure on Hamilton for the rest of the race

As Hamilton crosses the line to take victory, Red Bull mechanics greet Verstappen and Ricciardo (out of picture) over the line

Jolyon Plamer finished 12th in his final race for Renault with the Brit to be replaced by Sainz in the final four races

Farah was a guest of Hamilton at Mercedes as he watched his British compatriot triumph from the Silver Arrows garage
