انفجرت طائرة الثلاثاء على شكل “كرة نارية ضخمة” بعد أن اصطدمت بمركز للتسوق بالقرب من مدينة ملبورن الأسترالية، وقالت الشرطة إن الأشخاص الخمسة الذين كانوا على متنها لاقوا حتفهم.

وقال رئيس وزراء ولاية فكتوريا الأسترالية، إن العديد قتلوا جراء تحطم طائرة في ملبورن، حسب ما نقلت عنه فرانس برس.

وقال دانيال اندروز، رئيس الوزراء في ولاية فيكتوريا وكبرى مدنها ملبورن، إن “عددا من الأشخاص لقوا حتفهم نتيجة لأسوأ حادث طيران مدني شهدته ولايتنا منذ 30 عاما”.

وانحرفت الطائرة، وهي من طراز “بيتش كرافت”، مباشرة بعد إقلاعها من مطار إسندون القريب من ملبورن، واصطدمت بمركز تجاري على مقربة من المطار.

ونقلت رويترز، عن الشرطة الأسترالية أن طائرة صغيرة سقطت على مركز تسوق قرب مطار إسندون خارج ملبورن اليوم الثلاثاء. وقالت شرطة ولاية فكتوريا على حسابها الرسمي على تويتر “ليس لدينا في هذه المرحلة معلومات فيما يتعلق بعدد الضحايا المحتمل.” وقال تلفزيون سكاي، إن الطائرة تضم خمسة مقاعد وعرضت القناة لقطات لحطام محترق في مركز التسوق وفرق إطفاء تحاول إخماد الحريق. ومطار إسندون مطار صغير تستخدمه أساسا الطائرات الخفيفة.
