وصلت حرائق الغابات إلى مسافة بضعة كيلومترات من وسط مدينة سيدني الأسترالية، اليوم الثلاثاء، ما دفع رجال الإطفاء لرشّ مواد مانعة للاشتعال على الأشجار وأسطح المنازل في ضاحية بشمال المدينة التي تعد أكبر مدن البلاد.

واندلعت الحرائق في مساحة شاسعة من الساحل الشرقي لأستراليا ودمرت بعض المنازل، بينما غطت مدينة سيدني بدخان.
